About Us

Simms Fishing Products was founded with a clear purpose: to create the most trusted and high-performing fishing gear on the planet. Since our journey began in 1980 in the rugged heart of Bozeman, Montana, we’ve remained deeply connected to the water, to the anglers who live for it, and to the wild places that inspire us.

From day one, Simms has stood for authenticity, innovation, and craftsmanship. Our founder, John Simms, saw a gap in the fishing world — a need for technically advanced gear that could endure harsh environments while meeting the real demands of professional guides and passionate anglers alike. That same dedication drives us today.

What sets Simms apart is a relentless focus on performance under pressure. We are proud to be one of the few fishing brands that still manufactures premium waders right here in the USA — in our Bozeman-based wader facility — where skilled artisans build gear designed to outlast the elements. Every seam, stitch, and material is tested in the field, by people who fish, for people who fish.

Our product line has evolved to support anglers in every environment — from GORE-TEX® waders and waterproof outerwear, to technical layering, fishing shirts, footwear, and accessories. Whether you're knee-deep in a backcountry stream or casting into open saltwater flats, Simms delivers the protection, mobility, and comfort needed to stay in the moment — and stay on the water longer.

But Simms is more than gear — we are a community. We support conservation initiatives that protect the fisheries we love, we stand with guides and outfitters who shape the culture, and we listen closely to the global fishing community to continuously evolve. Every design begins with one question: What do anglers need most? And every answer leads to a product that performs without compromise.

With tens of thousands of loyal anglers around the world — from remote wilderness explorers to elite competition fishers — Simms has become a badge of trust. It's gear worn with pride, built with intention, and made for those who refuse to settle.

At Simms Fishing, we live by one belief: If it’s not worth fishing in, it’s not worth making.
